Found one great location for observation and photo taking today. Hopefully, I can return with permission. Soon. Waiting for someone to get back to me about another location. This one I am quite excited about and I hope it works out and I get the opportunity. It would allow me to observe the process of calculated media image making. I have a meeting with social anthropologist Dr. Aarti Kawlra, sometime next week, and I will also be traveling to Arani, where I plan to meet traditional/non-traditional weaving communities and traders. Arani is significant because it is now the hub of silk sari production, and has overtaken Kanchipuram in terms of sales and exports over the past few years. The plan for tomorrow and day after is to do some qualitative observation and documentation in private spaces.
